A Coveted Neighborhood by the Sea
Carmel Point is a neighborhood in an unincorporated area of Monterey County, just outside the boundaries of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Carmel Point features homes along the water as well as a number of properties with ocean views. Also included in this neighborhood area is both the Mission Ranch and the historic Carmel Mission, which was founded by Father Junipero Serra in 1771.
The Evolution of Carmel Point
Carmel Point was the site of the earliest ocean front golf course in the Carmel and Pebble Beach in the early 1900s. The area has evolved greatly over the past 100 years and now Carmel Point real estate has emerged as some of the most coveted property in the area.
A Quiet Place to Call Home
Carmel Point provides a peaceful atmosphere to its residents, with a bit of a quieter setting compared to some neighborhoods in nearby Carmel-by-the-Sea as many of the streets on Carmel Point are not thoroughfares to any other neighboring areas. Additionally, the lot sizes here tend to be a bit larger than those found in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Convenient for Work and Play
Families with young children can enjoy full-time living on Carmel Point, as beautiful nature surrounds the area, but perhaps more importantly, this neighborhood includes Carmel River School, which is a coveted elementary school in Carmel Unified School District.
Beach Paradise
One of the main draws of Carmel Point is its proximity to two popular beaches: Carmel Beach and River Beach. Both beaches are easily accessible by a short walk from the neighborhood.
Carmel Beach is known for its white sand and turquoise waters and is a popular spot for swimming, surfing, and strolling up and down the relatively long beach. Carmel Beach also allows dogs to be off-leash, making it a great place to bring furry friends.
River Beach is a quieter beach, not as popular as Carmel Beach, and is not ideal for swimming. Due to the precipitous drop in the seabed not too far away from shore, it is an excellent place to observe marine life. River Beach is a dog friendly beach as well but requires dogs to be leashed.
