Car Week home rentals and private event homes
Every August, car brands, collectors and hosts look for private homes on the Monterey Peninsula for events and stays. Here’s what to check before you book one.

The short version: Car Week ends with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, August 15, 2027. Homes for that week book early. Before you book, check space, parking, local rules for your town, and the minimum stay. Rules differ between Carmel-by-the-Sea, Pebble Beach and the rest of Monterey County.
Planning an event? Rules for hosting events at rental homes vary by property and location. Before you book, talk with the property management company and with Monterey County’s Permit Center (831-755-5025) to confirm what’s allowed at that address.

Why hosts choose a home over a hotel
A home gives you room to show a car, host guests, and keep the week private.
Room to show a car and host guests
A private home can hold a car display, a dinner or a reception in one place, away from the crowds.

What to look for in a Car Week event home
Ask about each of these before you sign.

Space
Ask for the indoor and outdoor areas you can actually use for guests and for a car display.

Ask where guest cars, vendor vans and any transport truck can park, and how a display car gets on and off the property.
Permits and neighborhood rules
Ask the host what your event needs and confirm it with the city or county before you plan guest numbers.
Minimum stay
Ask the minimum stay. In Carmel-by-the-Sea it’s 30 days in most of the city.
